Background

Pigment is a French enterprise software company providing an AI-powered business planning and performance management platform. It enables organizations to centralize, model, and forecast financial, workforce, and operational data in a collaborative, visual, and scalable environment.

Founded in 2019 by Eléonore Crespo (former Google analyst and Index Ventures VC) and Romain Niccoli (co-founder and former CTO of Criteo), Pigment was designed to overcome the limitations of legacy planning tools such as spreadsheets and static dashboards.

As of October 2026, Pigment serves hundreds of enterprise customers globally, including Snowflake, Unilever, Siemens, Danone, ServiceNow, DirecTV and DPD, as well as AI-native companies such as Anthropic, ElevenLabs and Uber. Pigment surpassed $100 million in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) in 2026, once again doubling year over year, with the majority of revenue generated in North America. In 2025, 56% of Pigment's new customers migrated from a legacy planning vendor, and 85% of new metrics created in Pigment are now built by an AI Agent.

On October 21, 2026, Pigment announced a $250 million Series E at a $2.3 billion valuation, led by the Scaleup Europe Fund managed by EQT, to accelerate its move toward autonomous planning.

Core services

The Pigment platform provides the foundation for integrated business planning:

  • Unified Modeling: Bring finance, sales, HR, and operations into one shared model to align assumptions and outcomes.
  • Connected Data: Integrate directly with ERP, CRM, HRIS, and data warehouse systems for live, trusted data.
  • Dynamic Scenario Planning: Instantly pivot plans and run what-if scenarios without breaking models or formulas.
  • Collaboration & Governance: Empower cross-functional teams to plan together with version control, permissions, and audit trails.
  • Real-Time Updates: As inputs or assumptions change, models and forecasts update automatically, keeping everyone aligned.
  • Custom Planning Interfaces (Frames): Generate fully custom, governed planning interfaces from a plain-language description, directly on top of the live planning model.

AI and Intelligence Layer

Pigment AI is a comprehensive set of AI capabilities embedded natively in the Pigment platform. It combines agentic AI, generative AI, machine learning, and secure AI connectivity so finance, sales, HR, and supply-chain teams can connect every layer of planning into one intelligent system for decision-making. All Pigment agents are available in a single, unified AI experience inside the platform.

AI Agents‍

  • Modeler Agent: Powers intent modeling (launched March 2026). Teams describe the outcome they want in natural language, and the Modeler Agent builds and evolves governed, production-ready models and applications aligned to your structure, logic, and industry best practices, with full transparency, guardrails, automated validation, role-based permissions, and auditable change history. It can also answer questions about metrics, formulas, and dependencies to document how applications work.
  • Analyst Agent: Proactively analyzes live data, automates reporting, identifies risks and opportunities, and explains the "why" behind results through clear, contextual narratives. It works in a conversational mode with code execution, so users can explore data and refine analysis progressively, then convert validated conversations into automated, recurring Missions.‍
  • Custom Agents: Enables you to build your own AI expert, powered by your instructions, your knowledge, and the expertise you choose. Upload documents, define how it should behave, and connect it to Pigment's planning, modeling, and analysis capabilities so it works the way your team works.
  • Supervisor Agent: Orchestrates tasks across the agent network, routing work to the right agent and bringing the right people into workflows at the right time.
  • Documentation Agent: Instantly answers platform questions by generating tailored responses and surfacing relevant articles from Pigment’s documentation. Combines multiple concepts into a single prompt to deliver clear, contextual guidance when you need it.
  • Planner Agent (Coming Soon): Simulates endless scenarios, forecasts outcomes, and provides actionable recommendations to accelerate planning.

Frames: AI-built planning interfaces

  • Pigment Frames (announced September 10, 2026; Open Beta for all customers from September 28, 2026) is a generative UI capability: if you can describe it, Pigment can build it. Teams turn plain-language descriptions or reference images into custom data-entry forms with built-in validation logic, interactive what-if scenario planners, executive dashboards, risk maps, and presentation-grade slide decks.
  • Every Frame lives directly on Pigment's unified planning model, so it inherits enterprise-grade security, live two-way data write-back, and user access rights by default.
  • Used by customers including Uber, Glean, Unilever, Palo Alto Networks, BYOMA, and VINCI Concessions. Explore examples in the Hall of Frames.

Machine Learning Forecasting

  • Predictions: Bring machine learning directly into your models to automatically generate tailored forecasts from your live business data.

AI Connectivity

Pigment connects to the wider AI ecosystem through the open Model Context Protocol (MCP) standard, in two directions:

  • Pigment MCP Server: A secure bridge that allows external AI systems (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor) to query Pigment's live data and build directly in your models in a controlled, secure, and structured way.
  • Agent Connectors (announced September 2026): Let Pigment's own AI agents autonomously pull real-time business context (objectives, specs, updates) from external apps such as Notion, Google Drive, and Slack, eliminating manual copy-pasting.
  • Every connection in either direction respects existing user permissions and access rights.

AI-guided free trial

  • Pigment offers the first free trial on an EPM platform, a 14-day trial featuring Intent Modeling. By describing what they need, prospective users get a working starter model and interactive board built by Pigment's AI agent in minutes, on the same enterprise-grade foundation used by Unilever, Danone, and Snowflake.

Other AI features

  • Navigation Assistant: Find what you need instantly; surfacing dashboards and reports from across your entire workspace.
  • Formula explainer: Understand how the formula works so you can learn, validate logic, and confidently modify it.

Core Benefits

  • Insights at scale: Automate deep analysis across your business model; uncover patterns, opportunities and risks that manual workflows might miss.
  • Flexible reporting: Customize analyses and narratives, and share AI-authored reports in the format and cadence you need.
  • Trusted and explainable results: Every AI output includes transparent logic, data lineage, and source visibility so users can validate results.
  • Predictive foresight: Anticipate future outcomes with integrated ML and statistical models.
  • Natural-language: Interact with Pigment through plain-language prompts to uncover trends, drivers, and relationships in real time.
  • Secure AI connectivity: Extend Pigment intelligence safely into external AI tools through the governed MCP Server integration.
