At a glance

  • Pigment’s Ben Previeux sat down with Uber’s Sunil Maddi to capture requirements for a sales manager cockpit
  • Together they went from from a whiteboard sketch to a working prototype in minutes
  • Recreated a process that today spans roughly 15–20 spreadsheets and five separate Boards into one connected view
  • Also demonstrated the ability to generate a leadership-ready slide deck using the same data

Sunil Maddi is Enterprise Solution Architect for Sales Strategy & Planning at Uber. He was brought in to figure out how their systems can help delivery organizations be more efficient.

Sunil visited Pigment to get a sneak peak at Frames, a new feature that lets an AI agent turn any idea into a custom, interactive interface that works inside Pigment.

The challenge

On a quarterly basis, each of Uber’s sales managers needs:

  • To know their roster, including TBH
  • To know what their current book size is
  • To collect feedback from their team and decide if the book needs changes
  • To then build a top-down target for their individual reps

Right now, that involves 15-20 individual Google Sheets.

Sunil sat down for a whiteboarding session with Ben Previeux, Head of Product and AI Strategy at Pigment, where they captured all the requirements.

Together they fed the Modeler Agent:

  1. A picture of the process diagram drawn on the whiteboard
  2. A transcript of their conversation
  3. Uber’s design documentation

The results

A few minutes later, this is what they were looking at: a fully-functioning sales manager cockpit that satisfied all of the requirements outlined in the prompt, built in accordance with Uber’s brand.

“This is super awesome. I definitely was not expecting it so soon.”

Sunil Maddi, Enterprise Solution Architect, Uber

The cockpit is packed with features:

Roster and org chart

An interactive team view with actions to initiate a backfill, flag a termination, or declare a transfer directly from the screen. Mid-session, the team asked the agent to turn the static team structure into a drag-and-drop org chart, so people could be visually reassigned between managers.

Book and patch management

Each account’s score rolled up into a book-level average. The team could filter to a range - for example, the bottom 30% of scores - select those accounts in one action, remove them, and immediately see the book’s average recalculate.

Exception management

When a rep terminates or goes on leave, the Frame surfaced their accounts for redistribution and showed the quota impact of each reassignment in real time.

Could you put that in a deck for me?

During the session, Sunil mentioned off-hand that sales managers spend an incredible amount of time putting numbers in decks.

In minutes, the Modeler Agent built a Frame for that.

What this means for Uber

Sunil is sold.

“For us, this is a huge step forward. Today, we have 3 weeks between quarters to make changes to the system. With Frames, the pace at which you can iterate, I think we can accomplish a lot more in that time.”
